CASE STUDY
ASSESSING
EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAMS
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) was founded in 1969 to assess student progress and abilities across the country. Also known as The Nation’s Report Card, the NAEP is currently the only assessment of its kind providing this critical information about the American educational system.
Project Details
From 2014 to 2018, research firm Westat and the U.S. Department of Education required dozens of meetings spanning over several weeks in order to complete the NAEP Assessment trainings. Meeting attendees consisted of researchers, educators, senior level federal government personnel, public school administrators, and others with culturally diverse backgrounds.
How We Supported The Vision
Occasions, Inc. provided a range of meeting management support services for a series of two 7-day meetings with up to 50 attendees and six 8-day national trainings with up to 2000 participants. OI’s professional management included site selection and negotiation, onsite support, ground transportation, travel arrangements, preparation of trainer materials, budget management, vendor and supplier deposits, reconciliation and payment of final invoices, meeting room coordination, and high-level speaker support.
The meetings produced excellent results for the organizations involved and OI was commended on its expert event management and coordination. Throughout the meetings, OI was able to navigate last-minute changes and consistently exceed expectations.
